Are you a current member of UKCP wishing to retire from your clinical practice? Retiring from a fulfilling career like psychotherapy can be daunting. We know that your interest in the human psyche and in helping others doesn’t end when you wind down your practice.
UKCP retired membership enables you to remain connected to your profession and continue supporting the promotion of psychotherapy.
Stay informed about developments in psychotherapy and mental health with a free subscription of the New Psychotherapist magazine, published three times a year.
You’ll also have access to the video archive of our webinar series, covering member-recommended subjects such as research and remote working.
Our fortnightly emails keep you fully briefed on news affecting the profession, updates on campaigns and developments within UKCP.
Stay in touch with colleagues by attending our exclusive networking opportunities, including online and regional events, Members’ Forum and special interest groups.
Your membership helps fund our continuous work to raise public awareness of the importance of qualified professionals in psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic counselling.
It also allows us to build strategies to influence the government, the NHS and other key organisations to improve and increase access to psychotherapy for all, including reducing barriers to training as a psychotherapist.
To see our membership fees for the current year, visit our Membership fees page. Our membership year runs from 1 October to 30 September. If you join part way through the year, the fee will be pro-rated – for example, if you join in November, you pay 11/12th of the annual fee.
To change your membership grade please apply for a new membership grade online. Please use our step-by-step guide on how to join UKCP as a retired member. To qualify, you must not have any outstanding complaints and/or sanctions.
By applying to and renewing your membership, you automatically agree to the retired membership declaration/terms and conditions.
