UKCP to hold Board of Trustees removal election

UKCP will be holding a removal election after a petition calling for a ‘vote of no confidence’ in the Board of Trustees was received by UKCP.

This means UKCP full individual and organisational members will be asked between 20 June and 3 July to vote on whether the current members of the Board of Trustees should remain in post or be removed.

The election is taking place after a petition was received from Therapists Against Conversion Therapy and Transphobia (TACTT) in response to the Board of Trustee’s decision to withdraw UKCP’s signature from the Memorandum of Understanding on Conversion Therapy in the UK v2 (MoU) and its membership of the Coalition Against Conversion Therapy. You can read more about the Board of Trustee’s decision to leave the MoU in previous statements:

According to UKCP’s Articles of Association, a removal election can be triggered upon submission of a petition signed by over 2% of eligible voting members. The petition received has met the required threshold of signatures.
