My Approach

I use both psychodynamic and attachment theory to guide my work with clients, meaning that I address both conscious and unconscious processes and motivations, as well as drawing on neuroscience as an evidence-based way of understanding emotional experience.

Attachment-based psychotherapy places particular emphasis on the lasting imprint of childhood experience. Attachment therapy delves into the legacy of our earliest relationships and how they continue to shape our relational expectations as adults.

A strong therapeutic alliance, built on trust, is essential for the work of therapy. I work with clients to build a relationship which can provide a safe haven at times of trouble and a secure base from which to explore all aspects of life.

About Me

I am an attachment-based psychoanalytic psychotherapist. I completed a 4 year training in attachment-based psychoanalytic psychotherapy at The Bowlby Centre and I am a registered member of United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) .

Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked as a litigation solicitor in the City.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

As an attachment-based therapist, my work often focuses on family history and family dynamics and how a person's early caregiving environment has shaped their relational expectations.
As an attachment-based therapist, my work often explores experiences of separation and loss throughout the lifespan and, in particular, a person's experience of major developmental transitions, such as from adolescence into adulthood.
