If you are reading this page the chances are you are seeking some help or support, either for yourself or for some one you know. Choosing who to work with can seem like a daunting prospect. I hope my words below help you to decide if I am right for you.
Perhaps you feel as though part of yourself is missing, lost sometime ago almost unnoticed. Perhaps you are fading in a relationship or job or life that doesn't feed your Soul. Perhaps depression has you and whilst you manage some parts of your daily life every act is such hard work that you question why. Or, anxiety is making you doubt your every decision, scared that you will make the wrong one; scared that you are wrong and that your world is unsafe. Deep down we know when something is wrong while we try to pretend to the world that we are ok. These places, known to most at some point in their lives, can feel overwhelming, lonely, never-ending. It is a tough place to be.
I would like to help you. My approach is gentle but effective. Together we will listen for the quiet voice of your soul and together we will interpret its message. I work with a range of issues and concerns which are listed below. You may not know exactly what is wrong; some people are simply aware that they are dissatisfied with their life or are feeling sad. We may touch into a whole range of emotions as we work such as anger, sadness or grief, we may even laugh together and feel joyful. All emotions are welcome, please bring them.
I am a psychotherapist and psychotherapeutic counsellor. I draw on psychotherapy theory and emerging science and, if you are willing to, we could also draw on more creative approaches such as dream work, stories, movement or drawing, which can help us to reconnect to whatever we are being called to do. I will work with you to explore and enquire into the nature of the issues you bring and help you to release yourself from their power or, if necessary, help you to accept their place in your life. With some inner work and some time, you can heal from your wounds; you can feel better. You can thrive.
Our first session will be an assessment session for which I offer a discounted price, this allows us both to get a better idea of how we could work together and the nature of the issues that you bring. We can also think about whether short term or open ended therapy would suit you best and arrange a time for us to meet each week.
I am a registered member of UKCP and I abide by their ethical framework for good practice - this framework sets out how I should work in order to keep you safe and our work effective.
