Choosing a therapist is a daunting process, yet finding the right therapist for you is essential as this is often the most important aspect of the therapy. I a have over 15 years experience in the mental health field, yet this won’t be enough if we don't ‘gel’. While I am the professional, you know you better than anyone else, for this reason an assessment session (or 2) is vital for you to make the decision if you want to embark on the therapeutic journey with me.
People come to therapy for a variety of reasons: loss, abuse, depression, childhood trauma, lack of fulfilment, sexual identity, sexuality, relationship difficulties, infertility are all common ailments these are mental health issues that many of the population suffer from. However, that doesn't make them easy to talk about or easy to ‘fix’. Sometimes the therapy will be brief and the ‘problem’ sorted in a few sessions, though often it can be a long process. I usually work with people once a week, though sometimes clients benefit from the holding that twice weekly sessions provide.
I have a psychology degree (BSc.Hons.), an advanced diploma in Psychodynamic counselling and a postgraduate diploma in Integrative psychotherapy. I have worked for various NHS mental health organisations and charities.
