My Approach

I offer Systemic Psychotherapy which takes account of the whole context of peoples' lives including personal relationships, and the relationship between our thinking, behaviour, emotions and beliefs
I can help couples to re-connect and to understand each other in a new way. Couples can use the space to work out how to stay together or how to live separately
I aim to bring families together in a safe and supportive environment to explore their relationships and to focus on strengths and solutions. This may be during a crisis, or as a way of getting to know themselves better.
Systemic Psychotherapy incorporates elements of other approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focussed Brief Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapies.

About Me

I worked in Child and adolescent mental health (Camhs) for 15 years and since retiring in Independent practice.Prior to this I was in a University educating Social Workers and then Family Therapists. As a Grandparent my focus is on how families can create healthy environments for all ages to flourish.

Since Covid 19 I have confined my practice to on line. I have found this quite liberating and effective in a variety of surprising ways. So much so, I doubt if I shall return to face to face consulting
