Most people experience a crisis at some point in their life. This can feel overwhelming and isolating. Sometimes family and friends can only take you so far. We often stop short of fully expressing our thoughts and deepest feelings, as we do not wish to overburden or alarm. Yet big life changes, a health, employment or relationship crisis will call us to that most private and resourceful part of ourselves.
I have experience of both short term counseling (6-12 sessions) and longer term psychotherapy working with clients from a wide variety of cultures and life issues.
Every client has a particular style; drawing on my integrative training I have many tools to call upon such as visualizations, dreamwork, and creative imagination to meet the material as it presents itself, but it is the relationship which lies at the heart of our therapeutic work. Strong boundaries, containment and confidentiality together with the rhythm of regular weekly meetings set the stage for change, allowing you to safely bring whatever you need to explore, no matter how challenging or scary it might seem.
