My Approach

I initially trained with the International school of psychotherapy in Scotland in 1998. This was a diploma in psychotherapy but also trained me to utilise hypnosis.

Since this time I developed and enhanced my skills with a particular focus on trauma and dissociation.

I work from a relational psychotherapy approach but harnesses my knowledge as trauma therapist and incorporate such areas as EMDR (trained in EMDRIA approved training in 2007).

I am a member of the European Society for Trauma and Dissociation & a Fellow and Faculty member of the International Society for Trauma & Dissociation.

I also provide supervision to psychotherapists and psychologists working with complex trauma.

About Me

I am a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and Child Psychotherapist.

If you are considering taking the first step to resolve any issue which counselling or psychotherapy may help, I have 22 years experience of providing services to clients who require the highest degree of confidentiality and discretion.

I have expertise in helping clients with the following concerns:

- Trauma disorders
- Dissociative disorders (childhood abuse, ritual abuse etc)
- Anxiety
- Addictions (sexual, substances etc)
- Phobias

“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone.”

My work focuses on attaining positive change to allow clients to attain and maximise their potential across all areas in life such are work, relationships, health and education etc.

I also accept instructions for expert witness work in civil, criminal and family court work relating to trauma, abuse and neglect. This harnesses the training I have undertaken in clinical assessment of children and young people.

I present nationally and internationally on the subject of trauma and attachment. Please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss any matter which may bring you to psychotherapy.

I work with

  • Children and young people
  • Companies
  • Couples
  • Families
  • Individuals
  • Private healthcare referrals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I have worked with trauma, dissociation and attachment difficulties for over 18 years. I am a faculty member of the International Society for the study of trauma and dissociation. I utilise a range of approaches for benefits of clients such as EMDR, TF-CBT and hypnosis (rewind technique etc).
