Hello, I am Richard Hughes, a qualified and accredited psychotherapist.
As a relational integrative psychotherapist, I work in a collaborative and conversational way, remaining open and curious about what emerges in our sessions. This way of working can help develop new perspectives and purpose. It nurtures a deeper, 'integrated' sense of self, more meaningful relationships and ultimately change.
I offer weekly psychotherapy and counselling in central Walthamstow which is on the Victoria line, 17 mins from Oxford Circus or on the overground from Liverpool Street Station.
Weekly one hour sessions: £60
I am sure you will have some questions, so in the first instance if you would like to speak with me, please call me on 07970 245 899 - there is no obligation.
I work with all adult age groups, LGBT+ and black, Asian and minority ethnic people.
Issues I work with include: Relationships, anxiety, depression, stress, acute trauma, bereavement, loss, toxic work environments, work/life balance, panic attacks, feeling stuck, ruminating/catastrophizing thoughts, life/career changes, sex and intimacy, sexuality, self-confidence and self-worth, age-related issues, a sense of difference, being broken-hearted and being relationship ready.
As a psychotherapist, I am qualified to work with issues such as complex/childhood trauma, PTSD, adult ADHD, OCD and OCPD and other diagnosed personality disorders.
I am committed to changing the perception of psychotherapy and counselling which I believe is 'everyday, essential, wellness maintenance'.
I have worked within Wandsworth and Sutton NHS as a clinical team leader.
My training includes a 5 Year MSc/Diploma in Psychotherapy (Level 7) at the Metanoia Institute which is validated by Middlesex University.
I carry full professional indemnity and public liability insurance and I have an up-to-date enhanced DBS certificate.
I am registered with the ICO and follow GDPR principles and guidelines which can be found in my privacy policy.
I worked in television production for over 20 years and was actively involved in creative diversity and mental health awareness in that industry.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
