I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist registered and accredited with UKCP. I am also a professional member of the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC). Now based in South Lakeland, Cumbria, I completed a four year core training at WPF Therapy in London - a leading UK centre for counselling training - and subsequently undertook further studies at the Tavistock and the Anna Freud Centre (both also in London). When Covid-19 restrictions were not in place, I offered face to face appointments in Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale. However, over recent months - and now into 2021 - I have been working online or by telephone with clients from across the UK and living overseas. In this regard, I bring considerable experience of one-to-one counselling with individuals from the age of 17 years. I have worked in both the NHS and the voluntary sector; operated as a clinical manager in an IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies); sustained a private practice; and worked in various international settings including Mauritius, Rwanda and Sierra Leone. I have studied at Teesside, Glasgow and Reading Universities.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
