My Approach

I take a holistic, soulful approach to working with individuals and couples. This means I offer practical support for the issues the client brings, as well as exploring what the symptom might be saying about that person's life journey and what they may need to attend to.

About Me

I am an experienced psychotherapist working with individuals and couples.

I work with

  • Couples
  • Individuals
  • Private healthcare referrals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

When we find ourselves getting angry in a disproportionate or habitual way, it can be a clue that there are areas of our life we need to look at. We may reflect on patterns in our relationships and whether these patterns remind us of childhood experiences. We may also want to look at how we communicate our feelings and if anger may be covering over feelings such as vulnerability, fear or sadness.
Anxiety is one of the most common mental health issues people are experiencing - and it can feel awful. My experience is that trying to simply ‘get rid of’ the anxiety does not tend to work as it can be a symptom of deeper issues. As well as discussing ways for the individual to respond to the anxiety, I explore what else the anxiety may be pointing to in the person’s life and other areas they may need to attend to.
Depression is a flatness, an internal emptiness in which life loses its joy and strong feelings are often dampened. I don’t believe in a quick fix for depression, but therapy can help the individual give their thoughts and feelings some space. Over time, this process may help the individual understand more about the depression - where it comes from, what it’s pointing to in the individual’s life journey. This process of acceptance, honouring feelings and inquiring into the experience can create new possibilities.
I help individuals and couples improve their relationships. I have a diploma in couple counselling and many years’ experience of relationship therapy. I see our intimate relationships as a source of great joy, but in some cases also great pain. I help clients understand more about what is going on in their relationships at an unconscious level and how they can become more aware of these patterns and how to respond differently.
