My training began with The London Centre for Psychotherapy with an analytical bias, but personal preferences led me to switch to a Person Centred approach at The Metanoia Institute. After completing the MSc. I taught as senior lecturer on the MSc Person Centred Psychotherapy course for 20 years.During this time I also studied and completed am MSc (Middlesex) in Gestalt Psychotherapy.
This Gestalt approach allowed me to explore my work with my clients on a variety of levels - physical, through body wareness and the breath; emotional, through dreams and creative reflections, free associations and visualisation work; and explorations of family structures and spiritual leanings as prompted by my client.
I am committed to my own personal studies in therapy, in personal supervision, in on going peer supervision, in studies of theory and of social issues as these impact on my professional work.
I have been working one to one during the current lock-down, using zoom and FaceTime. After Easter I plan to re-open some of my practice so as to work Face to Face. I will have had two vaccinations by Easter and how I see clients will be subject to discussion and agreement depending on the status and of the development of the Pandemic.
I work from my home in Shepherds Bush, West London. My consulting room is wide and spacious. It has an airy quality and there is room for safe social distancing.
My practice room has space for movement and a variety of objects which allow different means of expression. Cusions, drawing papers, sound and expressive work for creative exploration of family structures, dreams etc.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
