As a Family, Couple and Systemic Psychotherapist, I have for many years provided therapeutic consultations and workshops to various organisations and social care teams over a broad range of services as well as undertaking direct clinical work to individuals, couples, and families.
The systemic approach I practice is generally brief, around 12-20 sessions of 60 min. However, as there is no assumption on weekly sessions, and as we negotiate and agree on frequency this can take place over several months. Additionally, some difficulties are more complex and may need longer, this is something we continually discuss.
I am as flexible as I can for people and couples with busy schedules, sessions can be weekly or spread out. You can arrange a session at varying times of the week to fit with other commitments while still making time for your own development. You can also book a regular space with advance bookings of your choice.
At this COVID time, I am offering only online sessions via Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
I’m Mikael. I am a therapist working with individuals, couples, and families. I believe most of us need more acceptance and less fixing in our lives, less self-criticism, and more compassion. In my practice, I support people with a number of different issues to find more acceptance in themselves. This includes among other things tackling and facing lack of confidence, self-doubt, low self-worth.
In our work together we will move towards creating more capacity in you to feel the hard things, to handle stress, depression, anxiety, sadness, trauma and not become overwhelmed and on helping you discover and move towards the aims and aspirations you have for your life. Our work together will be of empathy, curiosity, compassion, and overtime trust. I will listen to you but also ask a lot of questions, make some statements and there will be laughter and perhaps some tears.
I work in a respectful and appreciative way that is also thought-provoking for us together to build on your existing strengths and create new ones to help you experience more positive emotions and to find new ways to address your difficulties. With me, you can show up exactly as you are, be that angry, heartbroken, confused, anxious, depressed, or excited and hopeful. I work both short-term and long-term depending on what fits you, your issues, and your situation.
Together our work will help you address your difficulties and struggles in different ways and move your life in the direction that is meaningful for you.
