I'm an experienced and highly effective psychotherapist and counsellor working from Kings Cross on Tuesdays, Pimlico on Wednesdays and Shoreditch on Thursdays. In addition I offer some lunchtime sessions from my home in Chiswick.
As an integrative psychotherapist I draw on a number of approaches and enjoy working with a wide spectrum of clients. However, my particular interests are helping clients work through childhood & family issues, and supporting them in making sense of often complex family dynamics. I am also passionate about teaching mindfulness & compassion to clients as a way of helping them become more gentle with themselves and fluid in their relationships.
While I think mental illness can be a useful way of understanding our experience it isn't the only way and as an existentially trained therapist I see therapy as an opportunity to make sense of our life experience and discover our own meaning. I work relationally and offer a warm accepting therapy relationship. Increasingly I view anxiety & depression as symptoms of a way of life that neglects our connections with one another and is making us stressed and sad. I'm writing a book about this called the Connected Self and shortly will be announcing the details of a new workshop based around this concept. I've more than five years experience, working in a number of different contexts, initially as a University Counsellor at London Metropolitan University, then within the NHS working with G.P. referrals for the London Boroughs of Croydon and Lambeth. In recent years I have run a successful private practice in central London.
I've an M.A. in Existential Psychotherapy and Counselling from the University of Sheffield. I am an accredited member of the UKCP and a registered member of the BACP and abide by the ethical codes of both organisations.
My fees are £60 per session.
