My Approach

As I believe each person is unique in their development and response to experiences, I work integratively so that I may provide a comprehensive approach to each individual.

About Me

To provide as much flexibility as possible, sessions are face to face, online, or a combination of both. My practice is compliant with all current Covid hygiene advice.
I work with anxiety, relationships and attachment, bereavement, trauma, young peoples issues,

I use an integrative-relational approach which recognises the individuality of each person. I have over 20 years experience of working with individual adults, young people, couples and groups in various counselling and specialist agencies. I have taught on health psychology and counselling courses in higher and further education and provided training and workshops for organisations. I have particular experience and interest in working with trauma, bereavement, relationships and young people. Other areas I work with include anxiety, depression, addictions, eating problems. I am a supervisor of qualified practitioners and trainees and a primary supervisor for Metanoia.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Helping survivors to explore the damage caused by the abuse, developing an understanding of self, to move beyond the abuse to create a more positive existence.
Bereavement, loss, attachment has been a significant portion of my work for many years. Having worked as a bereavement counsellor in the past, I now provide clinical supervision to other counsellors who work in this area.
Bringing relationship to the fore and creating a safe place for people undergoing difficulties.
I have worked in this field for many years in terms of offering support to survivors and providing clinical supervision to many professionals working in the field.
A central tenet of all counselling, in terms of working together with people seeking counselling, and a core element of the issues they bring.
