About Me

When times are tough and confusing or when your whole future is about to change with job insecurity and financial strains, who can you turn to for guidance and help? - - In the past, with extended families and smaller communities, you either turned to a trusted confidant, a family member, teacher, a neutral party, or you simply buried your concerns and lived with them as best you could. Today, many people are taking the time to gain the essential knowledge and skills that will enable them to achieve their goals. Others dedicate themselves to providing positive and effective help. - - I offer a number of services to guide you to the best life you can achieve, the right job and the right decisions:- - - You may want to see someone on a one-to-one basis and for that we provide psychotherapy, counselling and life coaching. Depending on your needs and what specific areas of your life you want to work on, I can develop a programme for working with you. - - You may want to get involved in supervision and training. I help people become accredited as psychotherapists and so qualify to enter the register of the UKCP. - - - - -Please visit my web site for more details: http://www.lifetidetraining.co.uk and

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I took the first call on the Terrence Higgins Trust AIDS helpline on February 14th 1984. With the launch of Channel 4's drama "It's A Sin" I reflected on that work in a short video for a You Tube channel on the work of that time. You can see that video here: https://youtu.be/pZjcWDcqfCI Since that time I have worked closely with people affected, bereaved and survivors of the AIDS crisis.
I work closely with an organisation called StopSo (https://stopso.org.uk) where we work to stop the first sexual offence. I work with survivors and perpetrators of sexual offences including internet offending.
As a gay man I take a special, although not exclusive, interest in all aspects of sexuality, sex education and relationships.
My experience in the AIDS crisis of the early 1980s led me to be asked to supervise the counsellors of the July 7th Assistance Centre. The Center worked with survivors, bereaved and the First Responders who were involved in the bombings of July 7th 2005 in London, UK.
