As a Relational Centered Counsellor I'm both open to, and curious about the relationship that unfolds between myself and my client. In any given moment, our past experiences of 'being-with' are present, influencing the contact we have with ourselves and with others.
Exploring these experiences together, within the safe boundaries of a therapeutic relationship provides the opportunity to better understand your patterns of relating. As your awareness increases you may begin to realise there are choices you can make which will improve your emotional and relational well-being.
Sometimes, deciding which choice to make can be difficult; for this reason it is often the case that therapy can last from six weeks to a number of years.
"...If my past can bring me safely to this present, perhaps at last, I might begin to trust a little more in my future..."
