Hello, I am an accredited psychotherapist working with both individuals and couples. My focus is to work with people to create a deeper sense of connection with themselves; aiming to explore what may be getting in the way of moving forwards, through supporting and challenging with a warm and open approach.
My integrative method incorporates psychodynamic, humanistic and contemporary relational psychotherapy models. I have a special interest in approaching emotional and psychological problems in the context of the body and mind as a whole system
I have worked in the NHS, in private practice, at a university performing arts school and in a specialist trauma foundation. Marianne has experience in treating a wide range of issues with a particular emphasis on those relating to anxiety, relationship problems, sexual difficulties, low self esteem and trauma.
You may want to address a specific issue such as anxiety, relationship difficulties or a sudden life event. Or it may be a vague, nagging sense that something feels wrong. Most of us hold parts of ourselves which feel elusive or unwanted, and sometimes deeply painful. By working together in therapy we can gently explore those shadow sides, to help us better understand the obstacles that may be holding us back and find healthier ways of living and relating.
I am currently undertaking further study working towards my diploma in Integrative Psychosexual and Relationship Psychotherapy. During this period I am offering psychosexual therapy at a reduced rate.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
