My Approach

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist offering individual weekly therapy. I trained at WPF (Westminster Pastoral Foundation) and am a member of the FPC, BACP and UKCP.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is based on the principles of psychoanalysis. This is the belief that early relationships and experiences have an influence on the development of personality and emotional development. Working psychoanalytically entails exploring unconscious processes and patterns in relationships

About Me

I have more than 20 years experience as a mental health nurse in the NHS, working with patients with a range of mental health conditions and illnesses. I have also worked with families offering support and education in coping with illness within the family.

I work with clients experiencing a variety of difficulties, using both my experience in psychoanalysis and within the NHS. This includes working with clients struggling to cope with anxiety and depression, stress related concerns, eating disorders, severe and enduring chronic mental health disorders; those struggling to manage work stress or relationship issues; those wanting to makes changes in their lives or those simply wanting to understand themselves better and make sense of their experiences.

To start this process we would meet for an initial assessment session, lasting up to an hour and a half. Once we have agreed that we could work together, we will arrange a time and day and meet for 50 minutes each week. This will be an open-ended arrangement or for a specified time.

I practice from a private room within the calm and peaceful environment of St Joseph’s Hospice, based in a separate wing with a variety of well-being practitioners and counsellors.
