The psychodynamic approach is about exploring experiences that have led to unhelpful thoughts, beliefs and behaviours. By coming to understand why we repeatedly behave or react in a particular way, we have the possibility of adopting healthier responses and improving the quality of our relationships. We can begin to respond consciously rather than react unconsciously. This is emotional growth. The privacy and anonymity of therapy gives you a place to bring your concerns, and the time to reflect on them within the context of a safe and supportive relationship.
