It is very important that you feel comfortable with a particular therapist or counsellor. Therefore, I offer a free initial 20-minute appointment so you can see if my approach works for you and, for us both to decide, if I am the right person to help you. I will say if I feel unable to offer the help that is needed and may suggest other avenues of support or other therapists that may be more appropriate/suitable for your needs.
If we proceed after the initial meeting, we will explore your history in more depth so I can fully understand your experiences. Our sessions together are shaped by your needs at that time. If I think it will be of benefit to you, I may use creative methods, from time to time as I have found these to be beneficial in the process of self-discovery. I see my role is to help you through this process of exploring your problems or difficulties without judgement or telling you what to do. If I think it would be helpful, I may provide information or offer suggestions. I will work in collaboration with you on the specific goals we discussed. Throughout our time together we will review progress towards an ending based on an agreed number of sessions or, if the therapy is open ended, periodical reviews of progress will be part of the process.

I am an Integrative humanistic and developmental psychotherapist. I trained over 4 years at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute graduating in 2019. Prior to training as a Psychotherapist, I had a long career as a Probation Officer, specialising in sexual offending, domestic violence, working with individuals and groups with complex emotional and psychological issues. In my psychotherapy practice I work with a broad range of clients aged 18 and above from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and occupations facing a wide variety of issues. My continuing professional development has involved developing my knowledge and skills in working with couples, trauma informed therapy and working holistically with the mind and body.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
