Choosing the right therapist for you is an important part of embarking on therapy. Here I explain a little of how I work and what you can expect from therapy.

What is most important for me is that you feel you can be listened to and understood without judgement in a safe and confidential space. I have helped a diverse range of individuals and draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to enhance wellbeing, reduce distress and help you to connect more fully with what you most value in life. I work with a range of difficulties- including but not limited to- anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, depression, grief and loss, low self-esteem and confidence, eating concerns, personality disorders and psychological adjustment to long-term health conditions.

We work together to develop a shared understanding of where difficulties may have originated and what can keep you stuck and to try out new ways of being. I offer both short- and long-term therapy; I will recommend a duration for the therapy, or whether I believe a more open-ended therapy may be preferable, and will do my best to accommodate your availability and any other requirements or wishes.

Training: Doctorate in Clinical Psychology; Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) Practitioner and Psychotherapist. I also work as a Senior Lecturer and supervisor.

Therapies offered: Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Humanistic, Systemic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) including Mindfulness, Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Fees: Free initial 20 minute telephone/online consultation; £80 face-to-face 50 minute sessions; £60 online (Zoom) 50 minute sessions. I also offer reduced fees for those on low incomes and for trainees.

Daytime and evening appointments available.
