About Me

I am Co-Director at Innisfree Therapy, an out-patient treatment centre specialising in Compulsive Sexual Behaviour (CSB) located in Harley Street, Central London.
Our team provides treatment programmes for individuals – men and women – and couples who are affected by CSB and CSBD (Compulsive Sexual Behaviour Disorder), formerly known as Sex Addiction. We deliver long term treatment combining 1-1 individual therapy, psycho-educational workshops, group psychotherapy and couples therapy. The environment is professional, compassionate and creative.
I am the Head of Services for women who are either directly or indirectly affected by CSB - for instance, we work with women who have been impacted significantly by relational trauma following a discovery or disclosure of their partner's compulsive sexual behaviour. In addition to individual 1-1 therapy sessions, we facilitate weekly psychotherapy group session for women who are affected by relational trauma as a result of their partners' compulsive sexual behaviour. These group therapy sessions are experienced by participants as a vital source of support alongside the individual therapy sessions.

I hold an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy (Minster Centre/Middlesex University) and am a UKCP accredited and BACP registered psychotherapist and counsellor. Furthermore, I have completed CPDs in the treatment of family members of addicts at the Centre of Addiction Treatment Studies (CATS). My experience in the addiction field includes working in abstinence-based residential addiction treatment centres, community projects and private practice in Berlin, Portugal, Surrey and London for twenty years. I am fluent in English, German and Portuguese.

My creative and interactive psychotherapy approach is based on in-depth knowledge of behavioural and substance addiction and focused on positive change as well as an exploration of underlying attachment patterns and early childhood experiences which are the remit of relational and psychodynamic psychotherapy models.
In my own development as a practitioner I have integrated and drawn influence from a number of principal theories and practices, notably Psychodynamics, Humanistic-Existential Psychotherapy, Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness and Addictions Counselling. I offer short-term and long-term psychotherapy and counselling for individuals and facilitate group therapy sessions, psycho-educational workshops and treatment planning sessions for couples and family members at Innisfree Therapy.
