I am a fully qualified, UKCP/AFT registered systemic and family psychotherapist and accredited Systemic supervisor, based in Central Stratford, offering therapy to individuals, couples and families. I trained at the Tavistock Clinic and the Institute of Family Therapy, having originally qualified as a social worker.
I have over 35 years of experience of working with adults, children and families in different organisations including Social Care, the charitable sector and the NHS. I now work as an independent family and systemic psychotherapist seeing individuals, couples and families as well as teaching family and systemic psychotherapy, supervising colleagues and consulting to family and systemic practice in different organisational contexts.
I am happy to be contacted by phone or email. If I am not available at the time of your call, please leave a message and I will get back to you to have a brief initial discussion about what you might want from therapy. As a policy, I like to offer an appointment as quickly as possible to avoid a wait, to hear more about the problem you want help with; changes you want to make, and agree what might be a good way forward, possibly with suggestions and recommendations, should you want this. If only a few appointments are needed, I can arrange these with you on a flexible basis. I can also offer regular appointments at weekly, fortnightly or monthly intervals, depending on what you might want. I am able to offer weekend, evening and day time appointments. The timing and pacing of sessions can be agreed and regularly reviewed as part of our work together.
I believe that most of us are likely to experience difficulties in our lives, or have times where we want to make changes in our relationships to others and ourselves. I believe therapy can offer us an opportunity to explore our thoughts and emotions safely, look at how we might resolve our difficulties, build on our strengths so as to go forward more helpfully and creatively in our lives and in our relationships. I am interested in offering time and space to explore with you, as an individual, couple or family, what you might find helpful to sort out your difficulties and make the changes you want to make in your life.
