My Approach

My approach is Relational and Humanistic, based in NLPTherapy and drawing on Family Constellation Therapy and several other Psychodynamic and Humanistic approaches including, Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, Gestalt, Pesso Boyden Psychomotor & Integrative Psychotherapy. I work with most psychological issues faced by individuals and couples; having a particular interest in early attachment, trauma-resolution & gender equality. I have a 3 year recent training in Pesso Boyden Psychomotor Therapy.

About Me

I practice in Chiswick at Nicholas Rose Associates and also in Turnham Green. I have 25 years experience assisting people to lead happier and more fulfilling lives and am a member of PCRS - viewing Psychotherapy in an economic, cultural and political context.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Bullying is a particularly pernicious experience and leaves lasting scars. Hyper-vigilance, low self-esteem and lack of trust to mention a few. I work with survivors of abusive school and life environments to rebuild positivity and resilience.
I have recently completed an additional 3 year training in Pesso Boyden Psychomotor Therapy and am now applying this in my work with individuals, couples and groups. It is a particularly effective synthesis of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and bodywork which help enormously when working with early and/or sustained trauma.
Stress can prove especially destructive in the long-term, negatively impacting heath, relationship and sleep-patterns. Becoming more resilient to stress and more able to self-soothe and relinquish stress-related anxiety is a core aspect of my work.
Often, deeply ingrained problems stem not just from major traumatic incidents, but from sustained early abuse or neglect in various forms. My approach is to assist clients to emotionally experience the positive parenting absent in their past.
