My Approach

My experience has shown me that couples, families and individuals have unique ways of getting through their struggles. I tailor my approach to suit who ever I am working with and together we find our way through. This can mean working across whole family groups offering sessions together and sometimes individually. We will think together about what is going to work best for you at the time. I work with children, young people and their families, adult family groups, couples and adult individuals.
I aim to provide a non-judgemental safe space where clients can talk about and work on what they would like to change. Using a strengths-based approach, I support clients to build on and recognise their own skills and resilience. I am creative and like using different types of communication, especially when words can be hard to find, using objects, drawing, making and play to support expression.
I offer a first session as a consultation, for 40 minutes. This will give us a chance to find out if we are a good fit, talk about terms and conditions and what you would like to work on and change. If you decide that you would like to work with me, sessions are 50 minutes long.
Sometimes a longer session is required when there is a large family, or a young person may have some time alone and then some more time together with the rest of the family; this longer session would last for 90 minutes.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I have experience of supporting parents find their way to be the parents that they would like to be. This includes working with wider family groups and step parents.
I have worked with many couples online, who come for support with a wide range of issues. We identify together what the couple would like to change or be different in their relationship. We work together on the areas that arise. I have experience of working with couples who are separating and want to find a positive way to co parent as well as couples who want to improve communication, increase their bond with each other and feel their love again. I have experience of working with larger adult family groups to support better understanding of each other and move forward from difficult situations in the past or present. I have experience of supporting adult family groups through challenging mental health and physical health situations.
