My Approach

As a person-centred psychotherapist, I work with the entirety that is you. I work in a collaborative, explorative and supportive manner covering issues that are important to you. It will be challenging too but, rest assured, that I hold a safe space for our work.

I have:
- helped people find the words that express their feelings
- supported people to make sense of their experience, for example after a diagnosis, a sudden death, a long term illness
- helped individuals work through the deep sadness that comes with losing someone close to them
- helped people work through painful emotions
- sat with people as they explore guilt
- accompanied individuals as they have made sense of their life

I role is to be your partner in this journey. Together we will find a way through this difficult time.

About Me

I trained at Metanoia Institute and have a Master's degree in person-centred psychotherapy. I have over 12 years' experience of working with adults ranging from 18 to 80. My experience covers bereavement, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, anger, self-esteem, questions around who am I/what does it mean to be, relationship issues, betrayal, bullying, post-natal depression, neurodivergence, and stress to name but a few.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Are you wondering if you might be ADHD, are thinking about having a diagnosis but worry about the implications? Commencing a neurodivergence journey can be quite daunting yet liberating as you learn to understand who you are with this new insight. I
Death of someone who was important to us can make us take stock of our own lives, create a sense of how precious life is and lead to so many questions about who we are. Are you wondering about how you will be okay, are you holding on to some unresolved business with the person who passed is there something niggling that you want to explore and find a resolution to? Are you wondering if what you're feeling is normal? I have over 8 years' experience of working with bereaved adults -
The world has been through a pandemic and the impact of going in to and coming out of lock-downs has been tremendous. Did you find lock-down hard, but are you finding being out of lock-down harder, are you fearful and too scared to return to your life as it was pre-Covid pandemic? Do you feel pressure to return to 'normal' and are questioning what 'normal' is for you now? Are questioning your mental well-being in this regard or in any other way that concerns you? Speaking with someone who will listen with an empathic ear and who will not judge anything you say can help to relieve what you're going through.
Every interaction we have with the people around is a form of a relationship. Are you the person who gives more to others than you receive in your relationships? Are you finding that you feel hurt by those around you? When we start to understand ourselves better, we can then look at how we manage ourselves in our relationships. Although this may sound easy it can be hard to let go of our strong beliefs and allow ourselves the space to consider being a different way in relationship. Let's talk through what happens for you and work out how to improve your relationship experiences.
I have worked with people who - are bereaved through suicide, manslaughter, road crashes, sudden death; - lived with alcoholism, anger; - children of divorce;
