My Approach

Each person has a history, a culture, a family, a set of values and experiences which make them unique.
The motivation to seek psychotherapy will vary and is personal to each.
The starting point is 'what brings you and what would you like to achieve through these sessions?'
My approach is humanistic, with a clear focus on what each person would like to grow to achieve a more satisfying life for themselves.
Formative Psychology alongside many humanistic approaches are my clinical influences.
The individual person and how they function is my focus, in building each persons own awareness and understanding of what they are living, and what they may choose to change.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Working with parents can support changing and growing any family dynamics which are unhelpful. The focus of the work is what is being experienced in the family right now, giving time to understand each parents family and culture influences.
Relationships sit at the core of all our lives, influencing how we experience our world. Central to our self-esteem is our relationship with ourselves. Using relationships as the lens to how we experience ourselves, and others, can profoundly grow our understanding of what is being lived. Through this understanding of how we function gives the opportunity to grow and make changes.
Providing Counsellors and Psychotherapists with clinical supervision for their work with individuals, couples and groups.
