Integrative / Transpersonal
I'm a transpersonal and integrative psychotherapist working with a range of issues including depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement narcissistic parent wounding and creative blocks. I offer long and short-term therapy and draw on a number of key approaches to meet my clients' needs. These can include psychodynamic, person-centred, Gestalt, Jungian, CBT and the transpersonal. My practice is underpinned by Western psychology and influenced by the wisdom of Eastern philosophy. I essentially believe that we have the resources within us to heal, and a core nature within us all that we can access in the right conditions.
Everyone faces difficulties in life. It might be that something specific has happened. Maybe challenges have built up and feel too much to handle. Or perhaps it’s possible just to get a bit lost somewhere along the line. Sometimes we need some extra support to process and soothe specific pain, or to take some time to get to know ourselves on a deeper level.
I’ve worked with a range of issues including anxiety; depression; stress; bereavement; the struggle to get in touch with feelings; relationship problems; wounding from narcissistic parenting; difficult childhoods and developmental trauma; and a lack of purpose, meaning or direction. I’m also particularly interested in working with the loss (or lack) of a sense of self; the general feeling that things aren’t quite right; the experience of feeling ‘different’ or ‘outside’; and creativity.
Psychotherapy can help us to discover new insights and perspectives, to ease the hardest moments in life, and even transform pain into the discovery of new potential or meaning. I offer a confidential, non-judgemental, safe, supportive and empathic space in which we can collaborate and explore together whatever has brought you to therapy.
I have a background in the publishing industry and also work therapeutically with writers.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
