My Approach

I am a fully qualified and experienced psychotherapist. I seek to provide a dependable, supportive and thoughtful ‘space’ for clients.

About Me

I have over 20 years experience of working as a psychotherapist in the NHS and charity sectors. I work from rooms in Leeds or remotely. I work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and I have experience of helping people with many types of issues (see ‘I can help with tab’ above).

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Many people who have come to me for therapy have suffered abuse (physical, sexual or emotional): I offer sensitive, supportive psychotherapy. I work gently at the clients own pace.
I have worked with several clients where bereavement is a deep issue for them- either a recent bereavement or a significant loss from the past that continues to affect them.
I have helped many people who are struggling with depression. Sometimes the people I have worked with find that their depression is linked to deep issues such as how we feel about ourselves or about relationships, or to our childhood experiences.
Many people who have come to me for therapy have brought relationship problems as a key issue. I provide a supportive thoughtful space in which to explore this. Psychotherapy has the ‘relational’ and relationships at its heart.
I am able to offer a supportive and thoughtful therapeutic approach to clients who have questions/struggles about their sexuality or identity.
