My Approach

I draw on various approaches including humanistic, person-centred and sometimes, psychodynamic.

I work mainly through listening and reflection but also with dream work, journal-keeping, art and drama.

It very much depends on what suits you best.

I have extended my sessions to include zoom/FaceTime so as to support people during the pandemic when face-to-face was discouraged.

- Occasionally it dawns on us that struggling alone is not moving us on or changing enough - this is when sharing experience with another may be prudent.. Conversely we may have drowned out our inner voice amidst the daily noise and need time and space for reconnecting.

About Me

I work as an Integrative and Transpersonal Psychotherapist and Counsellor with clients who seek personal healing, integration and self-development in a confidential and safe setting. Sharing loss, fear and unhappiness can transform our outlook. (Please refer to my website.)

'Integrative' means that I draw on various approaches including humanistic, person-centred and sometimes, psychodynamic mainly through listening and reflection but also with dream work, journal-keeping, art and drama. It very much depends on what suits you best.

'Transpersonal' denotes a sense of 'beyond the self' and so allows for a spiritual and creative influence.

- Occasionally it dawns on us that struggling alone is not moving us on or changing enough - this is when sharing experience with another may be prudent.. Conversely we may have drowned out our inner voice amidst the daily noise and need time and space for reconnecting.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Still working part-time and so semi-retired, I have an understanding of how life can be from an older perspective. Much of my work was with staff from a university when mid-life issues often arise. I also enjoy working with young people so all of life's journey interest's me.
I find using EMDR in my practice can be a beneficial and unifying experience for the client.
My training as a therapist was Transpersonal so I have an eclectic background of spiritual exploration. Our life's journey and the calling of the soul interests me. I worked in a Bhuddist primary school in Brighton. I studied Spiritual Healing. I have attended courses in Holotropic Breathing. Now older, I attend Quaker Meetings for Worship as well as my local Anglo Catholic Church. My client base has included people of most faiths. I find openness and awareness are key to inner peace and joy.
A much used word nowadays, we would look at what might be beneath it all causing the stress as well as how today's pressures are contributing. We'd practice ways of managing your stress, hopefully finding inner calm and relief.
