I am an integrative Child Psychotherapist working with children and their families, both in schools and privately.
My work is based on gently exploring how one feels and behaves through the use of the arts and the application and knowledge of neuroscience, as well as an understanding of Attachment, Developmental and Complex Trauma theories. I am always intrigued to see how children and young people take pleasure from learning about how the brain function and why we behave in a certain way, and to see how they show relief when I say to them that there is no such thing as ‘bad behaviour’, as behaviour is only another form of communication!
I have an interest and experience in working with children and young people who have been adopted, who are transgender, who have experienced loss, trauma, abuse, neglect, domestic violence, bereavement, depression, anxiety; have issues with anger, have some physical disability, have been diagnosed with ADHD, Compulsive Obsessive Disorder, PTSD and are within the Autistic Spectrum.
I can offer EMDR sessions and can work with groups.
