Counselling and Psychotherapy
It can feel like a daunting decision to make the first appointment and our fears of what it might be like can make us feel hesitant. There is no fix or cure for what we go through when we find ourselves experiencing difficulties. Asking for help from a therapist can simply be a place where you can gain a better understanding of yourself and your situation, find some clarity and begin to find a way forward.
People that come for therapy describe feeling heard, gaining a better sense of who they are and what they want, feeling calmer and experience improved symptoms such as increased confidence and reduced anxiety. Often the act of speaking to someone outside family and friends feels like an unexpected release.
I work relationally and your shared experience and story is the beginning of a collaborative approach towards finding greater understanding, working through difficult emotions and beginning to find new ways to deal with the challenges you're facing.
I work with adults of all ages who are dealing with a range of concerns and experiences. I frequently see people who are dealing with low self-esteem, lack of confidence, stress and anxiety. I also help people dealing with work-related issues, people who are feeling sad, who are carers and people who are experiencing relationship problems such as separation and divorce.
My main practice is focussed towards two areas; people dealing with all types of Grief and Loss, with a special interest in those affected by pregnancy and infant loss and Creative Professionals working in the Performing Arts who are dealing with emotional and mental health difficulties.
