My Approach

Human beings need the right relationships and contexts to heal. Harm is done relationally and we need supportive and containing relationships to address legacies of shame and fear. There are many ways of processing traumatic memories and I prioritise finding out what works best for you. In therapy and supervision, I offer a space to explore different aspects of experience including, thinking, feeling, sensing, and moving. When thinking is overwhelming, confusing, or not possible, then we explore other ways of communicating that allow new experiences and meanings to be found. I also offer exploration using the metaphor of "parts work". Through this parts work, we can start to appreciate how each moment of experience is made up of multiple embodied dynamics. It is often difficult to listen to ourselves when these dynamics create tensions. With support and practice, embodied listening can lead to increased awareness and appreciation of how we have been stuck in the past, and opportunities for new choices.
I aim to support you to discover new perspectives that offer a more compassionate relationship with your Self, others, and the environment.
