My Approach

Over 20 years applying my qualifications give me extensive work experience in body-based work (Alexander Technique) and psychodrama psychotherapy. I listen to body and mind. These dual qualifications allow me to regard a person in their psycho-physical being and in their environment. My approach honours the person and their background and their uniqueness and at the same time their embeddedness in their unique environment and life context. I appreciate that sometimes people cannot find their words and that non-verbal communication is equally valid.

I have ample experience in working with adolescents, young adults, adults and senior adults. I welcome those age groups with their unique existential quests and challenges.

I honour each person’s natural gift of spontaneity and creativity. At the same time each person is regarded as an agent and responsible person who engages in the therapeutic process. Since human beings are relational beings, the therapeutic relationship between the client and myself has an important role to play.

I offer psycho-physical learning/education and experience as well as action-based procedures in order to learn and see people’s stories, experiences and legacies of ruptures that affected their lives. I am trauma-informed practitioner.

I offer psychotherapy for adolescents and adults, including seniors, in one-to-one sessions and groups. My dual qualifications in psychotherapy and body work enable me to work with people who present with mental and/or physical health challenges. Apart from talking through issues, I offer a creative approach in order to explore issues that are difficult to explain with words.

I offer Creative Supervision to fellow colleagues and counselling and psychotherapy trainees.

I facilitate weekly group psychotherapy sessions with 5 – 9 members in the Southampton/New Forest area.

About Me

My qualifications are as Psychodrama Psychotherapist (Dipl/MSc) and Teacher of the Alexander Technique. That means, I value each person as a psycho-physical unit where body and mind build one eco-system which is connected to the world.

My knowledge, qualifications and interest in world affairs inform my practice. I see myself as a facilitor of space in the client in order for them to be able to stop and experience the space as a place from which they can allow themselves to engage in new ways to tackle ongoing issues.

My approach to psychotherapy is humanistic. That means, the principles are that humans are able to understand, gain insight into their lives, and take the opportunity to learn and change themselves to improve their lives.. I am also appreciating each client's wider life context in which they find themselves and is affecting them, working with the bio-psycho-social model.

I am engaged in working with aspects of the Climite Crisis and mental health.

I keep being engaged in professional (Continuous Professional Development/CPD) and personal development.

I work with

  • Couples
  • Groups
  • Individuals
  • Private healthcare referrals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

If a client found the courage and motivation to seek help, I am alongside them to tackle their addiction and/or dysfunctional dependencies.
Being a migrant myself and having studied Social Anthropology, I am aware of people's diverse backgrounds, values and beliefs, and the challenges and advantages that can emerge from differences.
I welcome clients who present with physical symptoms that affect their wellbeing, confidence and social lives. I work with individuals and couples who contemplate pregancy and birth, family planning, termination of pregancy. I offer my services as Doula, ante-natally, during labour and delivery, and post-partum.
In my approach it is understood that all relationships are co-created and that one can understand the dynamics in relationships, may it be between two or a group of people. Being in good relationship is a skill that can be learned. Psychodrama works with guided creative action methods which allows the whole person – mental and physical – to be involved in the work. It is a psychotherapy that embraces the whole person – behaviourally, physically, psychologically, cognitively, emotionally. Clients are being helped to gain new and unexpected experiences, opening new avenues for change. On invitation, clients may be joining a psychodrama psychotherapy groups in order to expand and improve their relational skills in a safe and confidential environment.
My approach is psycho-physical therapy and education as a holistic and trauma-informed practitioner (Trinity of Trauma, Ellert Nijenhuis, Dr med Reinhard Kruger). My qualifications are in Psychodrama Psychotherapy (Diploma and MSc) – an action and creative approach; Alexander Technique Teacher (Diploma) and Doula.
