I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist with a flexible approach, who will listen in a non-judgemental way, offer caring confidential support, and help guide you to discover where your difficulties may stem from.
People seek counselling for a wide variety of reasons. It is not a sign of weakness; quite the opposite in fact! Therapy provides a safe space in which to think freely and creatively about issues that affect your life and your relationships.
Worrying situations in the present are most likely to have originated in past experiences. Understanding these experiences is a necessary step towards achieving changes in the way we see the world, our relationships and ourselves.
As it is important to find a therapist you feel at ease with, I will offer an initial session to see whether we would like to work together and answer any questions you may have. You are under no obligation to commit at this time and may wish to have another session before you decide.
I work with individuals on a once-or-twice weekly basis for time limited and open-ended psychotherapy. Starting therapy may feel daunting, but you will not be alone. Therapy is a supportive and non-judgemental collaboration.
If you are not in a position to engage in psychotherapy in an open ended way, or do not wish to, then time limited work is a very effective way to work with those individuals who have clearly defined problems. It is designed to give you some helpful tools to build on once the sessions are over. Time limited work usually lasts for 6-12 sessions.
