About Me

Danilen is a Senior Family and Systemic Psychotherapist at Maudsley Hospital.
He has over 13 years experience working with families and individuals across specialist services and private practice.

Danilen offers systemic psychotherapy with couples, families and individuals.

As well as delivering therapy, Danilen offers clinical supervision to other professionals practising family therapy and delivers training in systemic practice to social workers.

Danilen has a cosy face to face clinic based in Blackheath and can also see clients online.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I have worked for over 10 years with families and individuals affected by adoption. This includes a focus on attachment related trauma. I have experience working with families with children, as well working with adult individuals affected by adoption, this includes adopted adults, as well as parents who have lost children to adoption.
I have a special interest supporting individuals and families that have been affected by bereavement and am able to work with people in the early and later stages of processing grief and bereavement.
I have worked for many years with couples and individuals. I am experienced working with couples that are experiencing relationship stress, whether this is related to individual or joint experiences, and sexuality needs. I work with couples that may be struggling with their relationship, to work on solving various difficulties that life experiences bring. I am also experienced supporting couples that are affected by infertility difficulties and am able to offer therapy to those seeking support around all areas of infertility.
I have 5 years of experience working with people affected by eating disorders at the Maudsley Hospital. This includes delivering treatment such as MANTRA and FT-AN. I work both with individuals (adults and adolescents) affected by eating disorders, and families/couples.
I have a special interest supporting adults and older adolescents around identity issues including gender. I have worked for several years with young adults that experience various mental health difficulties sometimes associated, or alongside gender identity needs and am able to work with this gradually and sensitively.
