I offer one-to-one counselling and psychotherapy, and I provide a space for you to open up and explore difficult issues in a safe and non-judgemental environment, whatever the issues presented. Depending on the individual situation, you will then be enabled to review your patterns of behaviour and relationships and take action towards change. The general aim is to help you find healthier and more satisfying ways of living your life. In addition, you might have specific aims that I can help you achieve.
Whether or not you have experienced counselling or psychotherapy before, the process of finding a therapist might feel daunting and make you wonder whether the therapist will understand your issues and be able to work with you without passing judgement. I offer a lower fee for the first consultation because I understand that in order to find the right person for you it is sometimes necessary to try different therapists. It is essential that you work with the one you feel comfortable with and who enables you to open up in order to achieve your therapy goals.
In my work with clients I often draw from Attachment Theory which can be an invaluable tool to understand how clients' early relationship experiences with their caregivers might have shaped their view of the world and affected their current behaviour and relationships.
