As a Systemic and Family Psychotherapist I offer both individual, couples and family intervention.
Our initial conversation would be a form of consultation where we would collaboratively discuss what it is you might be looking for if you were to engage in the therapy process. It would enable to me hear some of the challenges you are currently facing and how I might be able to help. This initial conversation is also a chance for us to get to know each other and to assess whether it is a 'fit' for us both going forward.
Whether it is your first time engaging in the therapy process, or you've had previous experience of therapy I want to create a nurturing and supportive environment, and one you will hopefully find useful.
The direction and course of therapy would be very much led by you and what you might want to talk about. As we talk I might be interested and curious about certain aspects of what is said, and it is this I would use to introduce a different type of talk that creates a therapeutic space. I might offer ideas/suggestions or introduce different ways of looking at things that widens the conversations and maybe moves or shifts your thinking. I have an interest in creativity and playful methods of working and how this might enrich the therapeutic experience for you.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
