Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

In private practice, i now mainly focus on the online practice of Psychodrama Psychotherapy (Group and Individual) and Action-oriented Coaching. Over the first COVID-19 lockdown in early 2020, I trained with international trainers and prepared specifically for online practice, in order to offer much needed remote support and therapeutic holding to those struggling in these pandemic times. Online therapy presumes willingness to build trust via the internet, which in turn requires clear, well negotiated boundaries, a private space and devices with reasonable confidentiality conditions, and a good safe internet connection. Apart from these new requirements and adaptions, having therapy online is steadily becoming the norm, with COVID-19 limiting face-to-face contact and travelling. You can now find the “right” therapeutic match for you without having to stick to the therapists that are available in you geographical region.
Making a mobile phone call regularly at a certain time, once or twice a week sometimes more frequently, sometimes less... How does this sound? The therapeutic relationship between good psychotherapist/ counsellor-client matches can be established, held and fulfilled with the help of different means of remote communication, which is particularly convenient in the current public health context. Talking to your therapist over the phone does not require you to travel for appointments; like in online therapy, if you choose to engage with therapy through your telephone of mobile you just to find yourself a safe, private, quiet space for the sessions and go through an initial assessment.
