Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

In my Systemic Family dynamics specialism I have helped adoptive families grow in awareness of difficult Attachment and trauma bonds largely involved with family Life transitions, both in the NHS and privately. Concrete collaborative and systemic action is then negotiated to achieve a stepped model of positive change
I specialise in Couple dynamic difficulties. Couples over the years have been referred to me with a presentation of distrust, trauma, emotional pain, in resentment for one another and with betrayal/affairs issues. I have successfully guided couples out of desperation and into positions of self empowerment that has led to a significant restorative change in their relationship.
I help families and couples (or individuals) with cultural differences in binational marriages or multicultural identities that cause misunderstandings and frustrations to unpick differences and self positions in a constructive and mutually inclusive style of communication
As a Specialist Systemic and Family Psychotherapist I work with challenging and dysfunctional family dynamics that have historically left family members feel fragmented, numb, frozen or unable to move forward and find resolutions in their family relationships. I help and guide my clients achieve collaborative positive change. Over the years I have felt privileged to be a facilitative factor in my clients reported transformative change in their family lives
I help self reflexivity and emotion regulation with difficulties in different contexts: couple, work, family of origin, friendships etc.
