My main counselling and psychotherapy training was at the Institute of Psychosynthesis in North London where I graduated first as a therapeutic counsellor and then as a psychotherapist. From the many psychological theories I had researched I chose psychosynthesis because it acknowledges all levels of human experience including the body and the transpersonal and has the ability to be very flexible in approach.
COVID-19 - During the current Coronavirus pandemic I am available for therapy sessions online.
I have been working in private practice and within organisations for over 20 years and during this time I have worked face to face and online offering long and short term individual psychotherapy and counselling. As well as private practice I have the experience of setting up and developing a counselling service for a charity and of coordinating a bereavement service within the NHS. My work within organisations has allowed me to gain expertise in the field of death dying and bereavement and working with adults and children suffering from life threatening and life limiting illnesses.
I originate from a background in nursing and was registered as a general nurse (RGN) and also as a sick children’s nurse (RSCN). It was as a nurse many years ago that I first discovered that talking and expressing feelings has a significant impact on a person’s well-being.
My aim is to help you by offering the highest possible standard of practice. This aim is supported by my commitment to my own supervision and to my ongoing professional and personal development.
