About Me

I have been working as a therapist now for 25 years. I have worked in NHS, further education and private practice settings. My early training was in integrative counselling where I learned a range of theory and approaches. The focus across all approaches was on establishing and maintaining trust with the client and on relating to each client as an individual and unique person. This remains my focus and I will always respect who you are and what you bring of yourself to my room; I will focus on your unique self and your needs. I am also trained and certified as a transactional analyst with an MA in clinical psychotherapy. In addition I have a huge interest in Jungian therapy and I am a continuing student of Dr Clarissa Pinkola Estes, a senior Jungian analyst and internationally acclaimed author. I also hold a certificate in eating psychology and mind body nutrition. Sessions with me are one hour to one and a half hours. I have a standard fee but also consider people's individual financial circumstances. I trust your integrity and will negotiate a reduced fee if you are unemployed or in some other difficult financial situation. What keeps me working as a psychotherapist is my interest in you, in your unique self and your particular needs. What fulfils me is supporting and helping people in times of stress and distress, times of trouble, worry, sadness, anger, fear and times of feelings that we sometimes can't even put a name to.
