My Approach

I am an integrative, relational, developmental, therapist which means I believe the seeds of our problems lie in our past and we can address them through relating. I work face to face in person, online or by phone.
I am compliant with the UKCP guideline for online working.

About Me

I work with people who are finding life a challenge due to the pressure of concerns and anxieties, coming from past and present relationships and work situations. Difficult memories of childhood can make us feel we are not capable and interfere with current success. Sometimes this may be from the family home or due to a history of boarding school distress. I am also experienced with people facing the uncertainty of illness and death. I enjoy working with psychotherapy trainees and accompanying them on the journey to qualification. I believe the bond formed in therapy is healing and enabling. Whilst we cannot change the past we can, by working carefully through events and feelings, allow freedom and peace to replace distress and worry.

Particular interests:
NHS workplace stress
Boarding school trauma

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Anxiety takes the fun out of living and can be eased in therapy preventing the decline to depression
Being bereaved is one of the hardest life events and rebuilding life and relationships is challenging. Support, especially in the first year after loss can be transfprmational
School distress including from boarding school Bullying in the workplace causes distress particularly in the public sector where burnout is common in the most altruistic and dedicated workers
Future health uncertainty, terminal illness and fear of dying
The workplace difficulties may lead to stress, relationship failures and depression. All of this can heal in therapy to allow for a happier life.
