I am an experienced and registered Integrative Psychotherapist, and have been working therapeutically with individuals and groups in a variety of settings since 2005. My original training was a four year MA in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy, followed up more recently by a further four year diploma training in Biodynamic Body Psychotherapy including Biodynamic Massage. During our sessions we may draw upon creative approaches to aid exploration and expression, and on our body experience, which can reveal a truth beyond the limitations of language. This is the case in both face to face and online sessions. I have found that the most important ingredient in therapy is the relationship we create together, the building of trust that arises from feeling truly listened to in an atmosphere of deep acceptance. I aim to provide a safe, confidential and non judgemental environment in which you feel able to express whatever may be troubling you.
As well as being a UKCP registered psychotherapist, I am trained in Biodynamic Massage, a specialist form of psychotherapeutic massage, concerned with the integration of all aspects of an individual – physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual. Accumulated stress can play havoc with our minds and with our bodies. Biodynamic massage is designed to help us literally digest our stress, not just in our minds but also in our bodies. For more information see the Association of Biodynamic Therapists website www.abmt.org.uk or my website www.integrative-psychotherapist.org
In an initial appointment, I will ask you a little about your life and medical history, and we can discuss together which approach feels right for you. The work can be short term or longer term, depending on the issues you’d like to address. Please contact me either by phone or email if you have any questions, or if you would like to book an initial appointment to see if this is a way of working that feels right for you.
