My Approach

Fundamentally, I offer a relational, developmental approach to therapy; I believe that, through our early relationships we each develop coping mechanisms in order to deal with day-to-day living. Unfortunately, at times of pressure, stress or conflict - often the very times when we need these strategies most - they can fail us. So, through creating a safe, open relationship in psychotherapy, we can explore these coping mechanisms, providing you with the opportunity to adapt and reinforce them for the current situation and for the future.

I look forward to the opportunity to get to know you as you get to know and better understand yourself. My office overlooks the tranquil De Montfort Square, in the centre of Leicester.

About Me

Hi. I'm Cat, a psychotherapist accredited by the UKCP.

At times in our lives we each experience issues which negatively affect the quality of our experience, such as anxiety, depression, grief and difficulties in relationships with others and sometimes even with ourselves. If this is how you feel right now, I care about that and I would be willing to sit with you and help you with your personal exploration. Together, we can reflect on your experience and help you find a way through. Along with anxiety, depression and general confusion, I have particular experience working with clients with chronic illness, terminal illness and those who have suffered a bereavement. I also have worked a great deal with clients with issues around sexual identity and sexuality.

I also offer both clinical and academic supervision. I hold a level 7 diploma in Clinical Supervision from Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute.
