My Approach

PRESENTLY WORKING ON-LINE :I am an Integrative Psychotherapist and an experienced & well qualified Psycho-Sexual therapist & Trauma work. I take a very relational and compassionate approach. I believe that we are complicated & multi faceted as humans and so take a dynamic & holistic view of the issues we face in relationship. I work longer term in order to allow my clients a space to fully explore their issues where necessary. I enjoy being in active conversations & often use creative approaches to explore dilemmas. My psycho-sexual work covers a wide range of issues of performance to sexuality ,trauma & abuse.
My work with couples takes a similar approach while using Emotional Focused therapy as a backdrop. This puts the attention back on communication & intimacy.
I also have experience of Bereavement Counselling having worked at a local hospice for several years.

I am a UKCP Integrative Psychotherapist with a specific interest and training in the Psycho-Sexual and Relationship field. I am also BACP (Snr) accredited and COSRT accredited. I am highly trained and very experienced with MSc, BA (hons) and PGDip Psycho-Sexual & PGCert Supervision.

About Me

Originally a teacher, a mother of adult children & having spent many years working with an Aid agency in Asia, I retrained as a counsellor & then as a psychotherapist therapist to help me meet the needs of the people I was meeting. With the increase of clients coming with relational, sexuality & trauma issues I added to my training by completing 2 year post-grad Psycho-sexual Diploma in order to be better informed for my clients.
Having lectured counselling to degree level for 9 years & run a local counselling agency, I enjoy working with trainee therapists and and am happy to Supervise trainees and Graduates for both couples and singles and am based in Buckinghamshire/Hertfordshire.
I work as a psychotherapist, psycho-sexual counsellor, counselling trainer and clinical supervisor for psychotherapists and counsellors.

Outside of therapy I enjoy photography, the fresh air, coffee with friends , exploring new places & my family.

I work with

  • Couples
  • Groups
  • Individuals
  • Private healthcare referrals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I have experience of clients who have used sessions to work through the effects of ASD on their relationships or mental health whether newly diagnosed or longer term. This can be done successfully given time and a desire to work at this difficult subject.
Couples issues often start with poor communication which can affect intimacy and the quality of your life together. It may be that you are experiencing the effect of poor boundaries or feel out of control. Or it may be issues around your sexual /intimate relationship that we can reflect on together
This covers a wide span but we can consider you in relationships, how you want to be, how you cope with conflict & how to develop a abetter relationship
Part of my work as a Psycho-Sexual therapist is to offer support with this intimate area. Clients finding talking through with a 3rd party can help with issues of intimacy, performance, orientation or the present day effects of childhood trauma/ abuse .
