I am a Psychotherapist (UKCP Reg.), EMDR Therapist, Supervisor and Lecturer, shortly to be commencing a DPsych in Psychotherapy. I specialise in working with psychological trauma, and also work with the spectrum of psychological presentations and distress including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship issues, transitions, and those with histories of abuse or neglect. I am experienced in working with psychological and mental health issues in the workplace, both on a therapeutic and one-to-one basis as well as with groups and training programmes.
I work integratively, which means that I combine ways of working from different theoretical approaches and schools of thought in order to best meet a client’s changing needs as we progress together through therapy. I will always work with you, as a client, according to what best meets your needs at a given time, rather than working to make someone fit to a particular theory or way of working. I offer short and long term therapy, working either towards specific goals and objectives or in a more open and exploratory way, or through a combination of both approaches.
Most people come to therapy to feel better right now. For some people this means exploring the past and the pathways that have brought us to here, for others this means working very much in the present or towards future oriented goals. We will discuss this together, both in an initial assessment and in our ongoing sessions, to ensure that therapy continues on track and is working for you.
