Welcome, my practice offers a compassionatley held exploration of what matters.
In these times of great change, challenge and opportunity we can benefit from a sensitive and skilled person to be alongside us as we explore the layers of our experiences. It is within the safelty, containment and spaciousness of the therepeutic relationship that we can soulfully inquire, without judgement or agenda what matters to you. What we call suffering appears in many forms in life; we may know it as grief and loss, anxiety, fear, uncertainty, relationship challenges, serious illness, addictions, climate concerns. It is by turning towards ourself and what we call suffering, with kindness and curiosity that we can gain insight, find new perspectives and connect with our inherent health and wisdom.
I have many years of experience working with people living with life threatening illness, and worked as part of the team at the Maggies Cancer Care Centre in Oxford. I have a particular interest in working with women transitioning from one phase of life to another. I bring what I call a Whole Earth approach of my life and work, which simply recognises the interconnectedness of all of life. Alongside working with people in the therapy room, I can also work outside with people on the land; this is sometimes known as Ecopsychology or Nature Therapy.
I have a creative and contemplative background and enjoy the frequent moments in my work when the deep well-spring of who we are is clearly seen and truly felt.
I am also a qualified Craniosacral Therapist which enables me to understand how our pre and perinatal experiences (our time in the womb and our birth experiences), can impact our life and relationships as adults when they remain unexplored.
I usually work with people on a medium to long term basis, and if there is something specif you want to explore it can be possible to work for a shorter period. www.Allystott.co.uk
