I am a psychotherapist and supervisor (see details below) with an MSc from the Metanoia Institute in London. I have experience working with a wide range of psychological and emotional issues, but I am particularly interested in working with clients who are looking to cultivate a greater awareness of their relationships with other people and themselves.
HOW I WORK
I work using a present centred, relational approach to psychotherapy. This means that although I am interested in people’s childhoods, I do not believe that talking about the past and making links with the present is enough to effect lasting therapeutic change. Instead I believe that in addition to reflecting on past experiences, attention must also be paid to the present moment as it unfolds between the therapist and the client.
I work both online via Zoom and at two practice locations: one is a 10 minute walk from London Bridge station, and the other is a 10 minute walk from both New Cross and New Cross Gate stations. At each I provide one-to-one therapy for adults. I work with clients on a weekly basis and I charge £70 per session. At our first session, we can discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, how we might work together and your hopes and expectations for our work. Should you decide to continue, I usually suggest starting with at least 8 sessions, at the end of which we would have a review. For some people this will be enough, and for others they may wish to continue and go deeper into self exploration and relational insights. My advice to clients looking for a therapist is to find someone you feel at ease with, who you get the sense of being able to trust and build a relationship with over time.
I offer supervision for trainees and qualified psychotherapists. My focus is on a relational way of working with one-to-one adult clients in long-term psychotherapy. I integrate principles from humanistic theory, relational TA and psychoanalysis. I draw on years of experience working in a variety of settings with a diverse range of clients and complexity of psychological need.
